At Neu Circuits, we provide individual counselling and psychotherapy for adults 18 years and over, offering a supportive and collaborative space to explore emotional, relational, and life challenges. Therapy is tailored to your needs and works at your pace.

Our Services

I support clients experiencing:

Our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are shaped by neural circuits formed through experience. Therapy can support the gentle reshaping of these circuits over time by offering new emotional, cognitive, and relational experiences within a safe and consistent therapeutic relationship.

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Emotional regulation difficulties
  • Relationship challenges
  • Grief and loss
  • Neurodivergence (ADHD and ASD traits)
  • Life transitions and identity exploration

Emotional Regulation & Relationship Difficulties

Supporting emotional stability and healthier relationships.

Some individuals experience emotions more intensely or find relationships particularly challenging. This may include patterns such as emotional overwhelm, fear of abandonment, rapid shifts in mood, or a sense of identity confusion.

Some clients may recognise experiences often associated with conditions such as Borderline Personality Disorder, while others may simply be seeking support for longstanding emotional or interpersonal difficulties. A formal diagnosis is not required to engage in or benefit from therapy.

DBT-Informed Skills

Building emotional stability and effective relationship skills.

Where appropriate, therapy may incorporate Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)–informed skills, including:

  • Mindfulness
  • Emotional regulation
  • Distress tolerance
  • Interpersonal effectiveness

These skills support emotional stability, coping, and more effective ways of navigating relationships, particularly during periods of heightened emotional intensity. Skills are introduced collaboratively and flexibly, rather than as a rigid program.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)–Informed Approaches

Understanding the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

Where appropriate, therapy may incorporate CBT-informed approaches to support awareness of the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. This work gently explores patterns of thinking and responding that may contribute to distress, and supports the development of alternative ways of relating to experiences. CBT strategies are introduced collaboratively, with an emphasis on understanding and choice rather than challenge or correction.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)–Informed Approaches

Building psychological flexibility and present-moment awareness.

ACT-informed therapy supports individuals to relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions, rather than attempting to control or eliminate them. The focus is on building psychological flexibility, increasing present-moment awareness, and clarifying personal values. This approach supports meaningful action and self-compassion, even when experiences feel uncomfortable or complex.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)–Informed Approaches

Understanding internal experiences with curiosity and compassion.

Where appropriate, therapy may draw on IFS-informed approaches to support understanding of different internal experiences, emotions, and responses as parts of a wider internal system. This work encourages curiosity and compassion toward these parts, recognising that they often develop as adaptive responses to past experiences. IFS-informed therapy supports increased self-understanding, emotional regulation, and internal balance, without pathologising or forcing change.
